Prof Dr Frederico Ferreira

Prof Frederico is an Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and a PI at the Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience in Lisbon. He obtained his PhD from Imperial College London and holds an MBA from Nova Lisbon. He participated in >25 R&D projects, graduated 21 PhD and 60 MSc students, co-authored >150 papers (H-index: 32), >200 presentations, and 7 patent applications. Within the field of Cellular Agriculture, currently he coordinates the projects FEASTS and CleanFish; contributes to foster a dialogue to diversify food production in Europe; and leads a research group focused on the development of novel approaches for seafood production, new edible bio-inks and scaffolds made from algae and vegan materials, and strategies to enhance tissue growth, maturation and texturisation.
