Dr. Ricardo Bartosik is a Senior Researcher and Grain Post-Harvest Specialist at IPADS Balcarce (INTA–CONICET), Argentina’s national agricultural research center, where he also serves as Vice-Director. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University (USA) and has spent over 25 years developing and transferring technologies for grain storage, drying, aeration, hermetic systems, and modified atmospheres.

His research on hermetic storage and controlled atmospheres for grain quality preservation spans cereals, oilseeds, and food-grade legumes — making him a key voice on post-harvest strategies and technologies. Dr. Bartosik has led numerous national and international R&D projects, and has published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Stored Products Research and Biosystems Engineering. He is Secretary of the Controlled Atmospheres and Fumigation (CAF) Conference and a long-standing member of CIGR’s Section V coordinating committee.
