Dr Ewen Mullins
Coordinator of VALPRO Path
Dr Ewen Mullins is a Principal Research Officer at Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority of Ireland. Ewen is Head of the Dept. of Crop Science in Teagasc, which includes a team of up to 70 researchers, post-docs and PhD students. His research interests include investigating advanced breeding techniques, disease diagnostics, and surveillance, to support sustainable crop management practices. Key to this work is a focus on reducing chemical inputs to mitigate pest and disease incidence, promoting environmentally friendly agricultural solutions and delivering added value opportunities for farmers. In this regard he is currently the coordinator of the Horizon funded VALPRO Path project and has been a partner in several other projects focussed on developing market opportunities in plant-derived protein and other fractions that have added value opportunity for primary producers
